Uşak University successfully held its seventh "International Staff Week" event, a tradition it has established in line with its internationalization vision, between May 4-8, 2026. The program, attended by 34 academic and administrative staff from 13 different countries, transformed into a significant gathering where intercultural interaction was strengthened and the foundations for new academic collaborations were laid.

Different Cultures of the World Come Together in Uşak
The opening program, held at the Uşak University Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Congress and Culture Center, began with the enthusiastic participation of academics, students, and international guests. Throughout the event, participants from different countries had the opportunity to both introduce their own cultures and get to know Turkey's cultural values closely. The Zeybek and Sema dance performances staged by students from the Faculty of Sports Sciences received great interest. The performances, reflecting important elements of Turkish culture, received high praise from the international guests. Also in the opening program:
Academic Collaborations Strengthened, Cultural Interaction Increased
Academic sharing and institutional collaborations came to the forefront in the sessions held within the scope of the International Week. Participants had the opportunity to introduce their own universities and exchange ideas on joint projects through "5-Minute Introductory Presentations," collaboration meetings, and "International Coffee Hour" events. During the event, new Erasmus connections were established between representatives from different countries, and important discussions were held regarding future academic studies and student mobility programs.




DTS Design Center Hosted International Guests


Within the scope of the program, international guests also visited the Uşak University Leather, Textile, Ceramics (DTS) Design, Application and Research Center, which stands out with its national and international achievements and is the only academic center of its kind in Turkey. Participants received detailed information about the design and production studies carried out at the center and had the opportunity to closely examine traditional and modern production techniques. Guests who participated in the fabric bag design event organized within the scope of the visit had a pleasant experience both creatively and culturally by preparing their own bags. The event fostered interaction among participants while also providing an opportunity to showcase Uşak University's strong infrastructure in applied education and design to international guests.
Uşak's Historical and Natural Beauties Introduced



As part of the program, guests were introduced to Uşak's historical, cultural, and natural riches. Participants visited the Uşak Museum, the ancient city of Blaundus, and the Ulubey Canyon, having the opportunity to see the city's historical and natural heritage up close.



Participants expressed their admiration for the region's historical atmosphere and natural beauty, noting that the cultural experiences made the program even more meaningful.
7th International Week Ends with Farewell Program and Ephesus Trip

At the Farewell Dinner and Certificate Ceremony held at the closing of the International Week, participants were presented with certificates of appreciation. The program, which took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, contributed to strengthening the friendships established among participants from different cultures.


On the last day of the event, guests visited the ancient city of Ephesus, one of Turkey's world-famous historical heritage sites. Thus, the 7th International Week concluded with unforgettable memories, both academically and culturally.
