Uşak University, which received full accreditation for five years from YÖKAK, has documented its institutionalisation of a culture of quality.

Following an evaluation conducted by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK), Uşak University was granted full institutional accreditation for a period of five years by a decision dated 18 July 2025.
Uşak University, which was granted conditional accreditation for two years by YÖKAK in May 2023, strengthened its institutional structure during this period and made its internal quality assurance system more effective and sustainable. The YÖKAK Evaluation Team, which assesses universities in terms of compliance with international quality standards, conducted both on-site visits and a detailed review of relevant documents and records at Uşak University. During the visits, the evaluation team held meetings with academic and administrative units and conducted a rigorous evaluation process by establishing face-to-face contact with internal and external stakeholders in line with the ‘Institutional External Evaluation and Accreditation Criteria.’
Full Quality in Every Area, from Education and Training to Research, Internationalisation and Social Contribution
As part of the accreditation process conducted by YÖKAK officials, Uşak University's activities in the areas of education and teaching, research and development, social contribution, leadership, governance, and internationalisation, as well as the university's strategic planning, quality assurance mechanisms, student and graduate satisfaction, and internal audit systems were analysed in detail.
Over the past two years, Uşak University has maintained systematic and consistent efforts across all academic and administrative units. As a result, it has been accredited for an additional three years by YÖKAK's decision dated 18 July 2025, thereby achieving a total of five years of full institutional accreditation.
Rector Savaş: ‘The reward for our quality-focused efforts has been full accreditation for five years.’
Uşak University Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş emphasised that the achievement of full accreditation demonstrates that the university meets not only national but also international quality standards, stating:
“This accreditation demonstrates that Uşak University has strengthened its institutional capacity, improved its ability to manage quality, and adopted a transparent, participatory, and sustainable approach in all its processes. This five-year full accreditation granted by the Higher Education Quality Council not only certifies that our university has adopted and internalised a culture of quality, but also that it has consistently applied this culture throughout the institution.”
Rector Savaş stated that the process was approached in a multidimensional manner, from academic programmes to governance systems, student experience to social contribution, and continued as follows:
"Our quality management has been certified; it has been demonstrated that our university fully meets the criteria for awarding diplomas that are valid at the international level. Since the day we took office, we have continued our quality-focused transformation efforts without interruption. Thanks to these determined efforts, our university's preference rate has risen to 103%, and we have once again confirmed our position as a reliable address for education."
‘We have achieved the result of a process carried out with the right strategies.’
Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş stated that the full accreditation process was also the result of well-managed strategic planning and effective institutional leadership, and made the following assessment:
"We worked with great dedication with all our academic and administrative units during the 5-year full accreditation process. We did not just prepare for the evaluation process; we also brought about structural transformation at our university. Rather than reducing quality processes to a document, we made them part of our culture. This decision is not just a success, but also a testament to the long-term institutional development that reflects our university's mission and vision."
‘This success belongs to all of us.’
At the end of his statement, Prof. Dr. Savaş thanked all individuals and institutions that contributed to the process and said:
"I would like to express my gratitude to Prof. Dr. Ümit Kocabıçak, President of YÖKAK, the members of the YÖKAK Evaluation Commission, the YÖKAK family, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, President of the Higher Education Council, and the members of YÖK. I would also like to sincerely thank all our academic and administrative staff, our valuable students, and all our internal and external stakeholders who contributed to this success. As Uşak University, we will continue our quality-focused journey; we will continue to take decisive steps to secure our place among the universities that are building the future.”
