Within the scope of the ‘Sports Friendly Campus’ Project carried out by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) to promote sports, physical activity and healthy living on university campuses, Uşak University has achieved a great success.

Award for Healthy Campus Vision: Uşak University stood out

Uşak University was entitled to receive the ‘Sports Friendly Campus’ Award, to which 83 universities across the country applied and only 47 universities were deemed worthy as a result of the examinations made by YÖK.

The awards were presented at a ceremony held at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University on 14 May 2025. The award was presented to Uşak University Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş by YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak and Bilal Erdoğan, President of the World Ethnosport Confederation and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Ilim Yayma Foundation.

Rector Savaş expressed his satisfaction for receiving the award in his statement. Prof. Dr. Savaş underlined that Uşak University, which attracts attention with its indoor and outdoor sports halls, stadium, hiking trails, bicycle paths and various physical activity projects within the university, stands out not only in the academic field but also with its studies that increase the quality of life and said, ‘This title given by YÖK was a concrete indicator of the university's vision of a sustainable, active and healthy campus life for its students and staff. Uşak University will continue to contribute to the physical and mental development of young people with its Sports Friendly Campus approach.

Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş thanked Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak and President of the World Ethnosport Confederation Bilal Erdoğan and stated that Uşak University will continue to be a pioneer in every field and successful in every field.
