Uşak University celebrated Teachers' Day on November 24th with various activities.
The Faculty of Education at Uşak University organized a panel titled "Teacher Education in the 100th Year of Our Republic." The event took place at the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Congress and Culture Center of Uşak University, and it was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Kenan Taş and Prof. Dr. Lütfi Özav, General Secretary Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinan Gürcüoğlu, as well as the daughter and granddaughter of the Teacher-Poet Osman Topçu, local authorities, academic and administrative staff, and students.

Rector Savaş: "It is thanks to the efforts of our teachers that individuals are equipped with an education appropriate to the requirements of the age."
Rector Savaş expressed his congratulations on Teachers' Day to all educators, starting with the academic staff of the university. He stated, "This special day is when we show our gratitude for the sacrifices and outstanding efforts of our teachers. Teachers play an indispensable role in society as educators who produce, convey, and carry knowledge into the future. The efforts of our teachers are crucial in equipping individuals with education suitable for the requirements of the time."

Emphasizing that teaching is not just a profession within the classroom, Rector Savaş continued, "Teaching is also a profession that plays a key role in shaping society and constructing a future based on knowledge. You bear great responsibility in guiding young minds, shaping them into the leaders and thinkers of the future."
Rector Savaş concluded his speech by remembering teachers, especially those who lost their lives in the line of duty, with respect and gratitude.

In his speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Education at Uşak University, Prof. Dr. Bülent Çavaş, highlighted the importance of the teaching profession for the development and progress of the country, extending his best wishes to all teachers.

Prior to the panel, the Uşak Municipality Academy Uşak Orchestra performed a special concert in honor of Teachers' Day.

The panel titled "Teacher Education in the 100th Year of Our Republic," moderated by Prof. Dr. M. Akif Helvacı from the Faculty of Education at Uşak University, featured presentations by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Ergün on "Teacher Training from the Republic to the Present," Prof. Dr. Lütfullah Türkmen on "The Past and Present of Our Faculty of Education," and Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sarı on "Teacher and Student Love in the Poems of Teacher-Poet Osman Topçu."

At the end of the program, plaques were presented to the panelists.
"24th November Teachers' Day Mevlit Program" conducted

As part of Teachers' Day, a Mevlit program was organized by the Uşak University Center for Islamic Studies and Practice, along with the Recitation and Music Student Community, to commemorate teachers who have passed away. The program took place at the University Mosque in the garden of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, where prayers were offered for teachers who had passed away and those who had fallen as martyrs while performing their duties. Academic and administrative staff, along with students, attended the program.
