Within the scope of the 'Summer-Winter Delivery Personnel Uniform Design and Specification Guidelines Project', which Uşak University has been carrying out with the General Directorate of Post and Telegraph Organization (PTT) since 2020, the Leather, Textile, Ceramics (DTS) Design Application and Research Center continues its cooperation by designing the two-season uniforms of its personnel for the year 2023.

DTS Design Center Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eren Öner stated that PTT Summer and Winter Delivery Personnel Uniforms consist of a total of 18 products including 'Summer Pants, Belt, Shirt, T-Shirt, Raincoat, Socks, Hat, Sneakers, Winter Pants, Leather Boots, Gloves, Sweater, Thin Sweater, Scarf-Neckcoat, Motorcycle Outfit, Parka, Coat and Socks' and said, "All these products were designed by holding meetings according to the needs of the target audience and taking user opinions. In the project where designers and engineers worked together, the products were also evaluated technically and improvements were implemented. Technical details such as values for ease of use, stretch, friction, shrinkage, light fastness, universal Pantone color codes were also included in the specifications. Information on the texture, touch and strength of the fabric plays a major role in creating the right design. The DTS Design Center completed its work with the awareness that PTT personnel should have clothes that are suitable for their working conditions. The designed uniforms are currently used by PTT Delivery Personnel all over Türkiye with the logo "Designed by Uşak University".''

Uşak University Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş said that the DTS Design Center designed the clothes of important public institutions of our country and said, "We designed the uniforms of approximately 35 thousand 112 Emergency Health Services personnel and made the technical specifications.  Our cooperation with many national and international companies continues. We have been designing the summer and winter uniforms of the employees of PTT A.Ş. General Directorate since 2020. For the year 2023, we continue our collaborations by designing the uniforms of the personnel for two seasons.

-Savaş; Thanks to the designs made in our DTS Design Center, many organizations, especially regional companies, now provide the designs they buy from abroad from our center.

Stating that the DTS Design Center continues its cooperative activities with national and international institutions, organizations and industrial companies, Prof. Dr. Savaş said, "In this context, negotiations have been held with more than 220 private and public institutions and many of them are actively continuing. So far, 23 protocols have been signed and more than 1000 design activities have been carried out. The designs made in our center are exhibited in national and international fairs and are included in the catalogs and creations of companies. Thanks to the designs made in our center, many organizations, especially regional companies, now provide the designs they buy from abroad from our center. In this way, imports have been reduced and the export capacities of companies have been increased. Our center has been and will continue to be the face of our university at the point of university-industry cooperation by working with the industry.

-As a 'Mission University', we support the development of our domestic and national industry.

Rector Ekrem Savaş pointed out that they pay attention to the use of recycling yarns in the clothing designs of 112 Emergency and PTT personnel and said, "Our university, which has been declared as a mission university in the fields of Leather, Textile and Ceramics within the scope of the 'Regional Development Oriented Mission Differentiation Project' announced by our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, supports both the regional industry (85 percent of recycling yarns are produced in Uşak province) and the protection of nature by encouraging the use of recycling yarns in the projects it prepares. In addition, by giving importance to the fact that the fabrics used in the designs can be produced in Türkiye, support is provided for the development of domestic and national industry.
