The 3rd Meeting of the Universities Disaster Management Application and Research Centers Platform (AYMEP) was held in Elazig on 28-29 July 2022, hosted by Fırat University. Representing Uşak University, Earthquake Application and Research Center Director Assoc. Dr. Tahir Gonen joined.

Under the chairmanship of Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu, an evaluation meeting was held by AFAD on 22nd December 2021 with 42 Disaster and Emergency Research, Training and Application Centers of 39 universities in Ankara Gölbaşı. In the meeting, the works of the centers with a common information infrastructure, the publications prepared, the planned meeting, workshop, seminar etc. It was decided to establish a platform to share information. Following this meeting, an evaluation meeting was held on May 17, 2022, under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Interior İsmail Çataklı and AFAD President Governor Yunus Sezer, with the Director of 37 Disaster and Emergency Research, Training and Application Centers of 35 universities at the AFAD Presidency campus. At the meeting, Opinions of the managers related to AYMEP were taken and the projects that could be carried out jointly were consulted. AYMEP was established as Turkey's largest academic platform at this meeting and it was decided to hold the next meeting at the Elazig Fırat University campus under the coordination of AFAD. Based on this decision, at the AYMEP meeting held at Fırat University on 28th-29th July 2022, five working themes were determined, sub-committees were formed and the following decisions were taken:

- The 4th International Disaster Management Congress will be hosted by Kütahya Dumlupınar University,

- It has been unanimously decided that the 4th AYMEP meeting will be determined by the AFAD Presidency from among the aspiring universities and that the meeting will be held in September.

- It was decided that the agenda items of the 4th AYMEP meeting would be as follows:

1. About the European Union Projects carried out by Eskişehir Technical University together with AFAD Provincial Directorate, Dr. Instructor Member Muammer TÜN making a presentation,

2. About the National Projects carried out by Konya Technical University together with AFAD Provincial Directorate, Prof. Dr. Fethullah ARIK's presentation,

3. Sub-working commissions make presentations about their work in the period up to the AYMEP meeting,

4. Discussing the study themes on disaster education, disaster terms dictionary, disaster and emergency student societies, search and rescue and demolition waste legislation and forming sub-committees if appropriate,

5. Receiving proposals for new study themes and determining sub-committees for appropriate ones,

6. Studies to determine the needs of AFAD.
