Uşak University hosted a seminar organized for the 99th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT). The event, which was held in cooperation with Uşak University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and Business Administration Community, was held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Congress and Culture Center T6 Hall.

In the seminar organized to introduce the institution's data production processes, current research areas and to strengthen scientific cooperation between TURKSTAT and universities within the framework of TURKSTAT's 99 years of institutional experience, officials from TURKSTAT Manisa Regional Directorate gave information about the importance of statistical data in public policies.

Uşak University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Kenan Taş, Uşak University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Taş, TÜİK Manisa Regional Director Selçuk Direkçi, academicians and students attended the seminar.

In the seminar; Uşak University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Taş, TURKSTAT Manisa Regional Director Selçuk Direkçi, Social Research Group Manager Ahmet Murat Şen, Economic Research Group Manager Mehmet Kamacı and IT and Communication Team Responsible Anıl Feyza Ekşi took part as speakers.

In her speech, Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Taş emphasized the importance of TURKSTAT data in scientific studies and expressed her hope that this cooperation will further strengthen.

TURKSTAT Manisa Regional Director Selçuk Direkçi stated that TURKSTAT is not only a data producing institution, but also in the process of transforming into a center of data governance.

In other presentations, important information was shared on TurkStat's current methods in economic and social research, agricultural statistics, environmental impacts, R&D activities and digital data infrastructure.

The event ended with a collective photo session after the presentation of certificates of appreciation and plaques.
