Uşak University organized a 'Strategy and Quality' workshop with the participation of internal and external stakeholders.

Uşak University held a 'Strategy and Quality' workshop on February 5, 2025 at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Congress and Culture Center, where academic and administrative units of the university and external stakeholders of the university came together.

In the workshop held with the participation of Uşak University faculties, colleges, vocational schools, research and application centers, coordinatorships, administrative directorates and representatives of public institutions and organizations, NGOs (non-governmental organizations) and Uşak Organized Industrial Zones in Uşak, the improvements made by Uşak University after the Corporate Accreditation Program (KAP), the closure of the strategic plan for the 2020-2024 period and the strategic plan for the 2025-2029 period were introduced and the opinions and evaluations of internal and external stakeholders were received.

In his speech at the opening of the workshop, Uşak University Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş stated that this workshop was organized to evaluate an important milestone of Uşak University with stakeholders and to see the beginning of a new era. Rector Prof. Dr. Savaş said, “First of all, I would like to thank all our academic and administrative staff for their efforts during the 2020-2024 Strategic Plan. In this five-year period, great steps have been taken to improve the quality of education, strengthen research and specialization activities, expand social responsibility projects and contribute to the internationalization process. Now it is time to set even greater goals for the future with the Strategic Plan 2025-2029. This new strategic plan will not only carry our academic achievements further, but will also draw the map of the important steps to be taken towards becoming a University that contributes to society, our environment and the world.

Prof. Dr. Savaş stated that the 2025-2029 Strategic Plan of Uşak University includes digitalization in education, sustainability, innovative research, international collaborations and deepening in areas such as leather, textile and ceramics, which are areas of specialization, to specialize in these areas and to become a pioneering university recognized both nationally and internationally. Prof. Dr. Savaş said, “We aim to promote an interactive structure both locally and globally in order to make our university an even stronger education and research center. In this context, we will continue our work without slowing down to achieve our strategic goals within a strong cooperation and participatory planning process in which each unit of our University will contribute. Together, we will move forward with common sense, without forgetting that each of us has important tasks to undertake in this journey. In this journey, the opinions and suggestions of our valuable stakeholders will shed light on us.

Rector Savaş thanked all stakeholders who contributed to the implementation of the new strategic plan and said, “As Uşak University, we are confident that we will achieve greater success in the fields of quality, education and training, R&D and Specialization and social contribution. I wish the new semester to be auspicious by reiterating our belief that we will work with all our strength to carry Uşak University to a brighter future.

PDP and Strategic Plan Activities were Evaluated

Prof. Dr. Kenan Taş, Vice Rector for Quality and Education, detailed the progress made by Uşak University in quality accreditation studies in his presentation titled “Improvements After KAP”. Taş said, “The institutional accreditation process means not only obtaining a certificate, but also continuously improving the quality of education and management. In this context, we continue to update, develop and improve our academic programs, administrative functioning, student-centered approaches and our relations with our stakeholders.”

Faruk Alabay, Head of Strategy Development Department of Uşak University, made the closing and evaluation of the strategic plan for the 2020-2024 period and introduced the strategic plan for the 2025-2029 period. In his presentation, Alabay said, “In the 2020-2024 period, our university made great progress in various fields. The 4th strategic plan of our university, which will cover the years 2025-2029, has been prepared taking into account the Corporate Accreditation Program (KAP) Feedback Report, the realizations of the 2020-2024 Strategic Plan, the top policy documents (12th Development Plan (2024-2028), Medium Term Program (2024-2026), the Annual Program of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey for 2024, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In this context, our new plan has been prepared with an approach that will ensure the participation of internal and external stakeholders.

The workshop ended after the opinions and suggestions of the stakeholders were received.
