5 scientists from Uşak University were listed in the ‘World's Most Influential Scientists List’ prepared by Stanford University. Five scientists from Uşak University were ranked in the top 2% among 7 million scientists and ranked in the list of the world's most influential scientists.

Stanford University announced the ‘World's Most Influential Scientists List’, in which the career performance of approximately 7 million scientists was evaluated using the Scopus Database. The list evaluates the names in the top 2 per cent of scientists in the world.

The list, published in the Elsevier database in two categories as ‘career-long impact’ and ‘annual impact’, this year included scientists from 22 departments and 174 sub-disciplines. The list consists of variables such as the number of citations, h index, hm index, self-citation rate and is made using the scientific impact index.

-5 scientists from our university were included in the World's Most Influential Scientists List.

As in the previous years, Uşak University Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş was one of the few rectors from Turkey to be included in the list.

In the ‘Career-Long Impact’ category of the list of the world's most influential scientists; Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Hakan Çalışkan, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Osman Asi and Faculty of Education Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. İlker Uğulu were entitled to enter the list.

In the ‘Annual Impact’ category of the list, Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Hakan Çalışkan and Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Onur Güneşer took place.

Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş congratulated the faculty members who took place in the ‘World's Most Influential Scientists’ list and stated that Uşak University continues to take place in international rankings. Prof. Dr. Savaş expressed his satisfaction that Uşak University academicians were included in the list of ‘The World's Most Influential Scientists’ this year as in previous years with their scientific studies, projects and publications and said, ‘As Uşak University, our international achievements are not a coincidence. Our quality-oriented studies bring international success. We are honoured and delighted to be included in the list once again. The achievements of our faculty members serve as role models for our young academicians.’

Adding that the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) has given full support to Uşak University in all its activities, Prof. Dr. Savaş said, ‘I would like to thank Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, President of YÖK, and members of YÖK. Our university will continue to achieve important successes in the 2024-2025 academic year.
