Uşak University Leather, Textile and Ceramics (DTS) Design Application and Research Center hosted Arzu Kaprol, one of Turkey's leading fashion designers, within the scope of DTS Talks on November 15, 2023.

The event was broadcast live on Uşak University YouTube channel and moderated by DTS Center Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eren Öner and Lecturer from the Textile unit. Assist.  Neslihan Öpöz Vural, Arzu Kaprol gave a speech on "The Role of the Designer in the Next Century and the Redefined Fashion Philosophy".

In the interview, Kaprol, who defines himself as a 'Human Innovation Designer', explained his perspective on design and designers, his perception of innovation, the interaction between fashion and technology, and the values of his brand through conceptual thought systems. Stating that no system can exist without innovation, Kaprol stated that his role in the sector is in a perspective that will contribute to innovation in the system with this definition.

Kaprol explained his perception of sustainability in the field comprehensively in his speech, in which he proposed a new mindset about being a derivative by questioning consumption and production.

With the thoughts she shared about the textile industry and fashion philosophies, Kaprol offered important perspectives for a wide audience, both within the textile design profession and as a candidate designer.
