With the cooperation of Uşak University and Afyonkarahisar Health Sciences University (AFSU) Technology Transfer Offices (TTO), the seminar titled “Commercialization of Academic Inventions-A Patent Commercialization Story” was held by AFSU academician Dr. Instructor. It was held on May 24 with the participation of its member Muharrem Ölçer. 

Muharrem Ölçer started his presentation related to the themes including "How does an academic invention occur?", "What is a patent?" by making the basic definitions of the subjects and explained the process of filing the patent application, the necessary documents, the difficulties encountered, the criteria to be considered, and the institutions to be in contact with. Dr. Ölçer talked about the stages in the commercialization of an invention, the criteria, advantages and disadvantages of commercialization activities, and how important Technology Transfer Offices are for university academics in both patent and commercialization activities. Ölçer stated that it is important to carry out the processes in cooperation with TTO in order to reduce technical and commercial risks, create advantages and experience a quality process, in order for an invention to be patented and commercialized more easily.

Uşak University and AFSU academicians and students attended the meeting. At the end of the seminar, participants' questions were responded by Dr. Instructor Ölçer, and mutual views and wishes were expressed.
