The faculty has begun education in 1993 with Textile engineering department. In 1998 mechanical engineering department was formed. Chemistry engineering was founded in 1995 but because of the academic staff deficiency, the department couldn’t start education. Textile engineering with normal and second education and mechanical engineering with normal education are going on education. M.S program in Textile engineering is going education and in 2008-2009 academic years providing M.S program and second education and normal education in Chemistry engineering are planned. The number of students in 2007-2008 academic years is 595.

   As a Usak University Engineering Faculty, our main aim is to be an excellent education, research and science institution which is in all parts of the engineering in universal assets, sensitive to environment, is well-developed in terms of social, intellectual and cultural values. And also its aim is to make contributions which develop international science by scientific research and expanding them, is to educate sensitive to environment and society, creative, innovative and enterprising engineers, is to contribute national regeneration and our country’s economic growth by taking effective missions in education, science and research, is to take effective and permanent mission in priority research field in which our country compete internationally.

   There are 2 professors, 6 associated Prof. Dr. ,7 assistant Prof. Dr. ,1 instructor, 7 research assistant and 1 specialist in academic staff. In administrative staff there are 1 technician, 2 operators, 1 furnace man, and 2 servants.
